About MindPulseWe help clients to define research targets and to coordinate public funding, industry resources and people. The objective is to maximise the benefit of research and to develop synergy between research projects that are considered part of our clients research programme.
Due to our experiences of research programme management
within the European Commission as well as on the outside,
we can identify systematic inefficiencies often not visible to our clients.
Our task is similar to strategic business planning, but we deal
with stakeholders from 27 countries. Sometimes the time horizon
is 20 months, sometimes it is 20 years. Public and private interests
have to be satisfied, and depending on the funding instrument and
source, different rules and procedures have to be followed.

About public research funding in EuropeEurope suffers from fragmented public research governance. Lack of transparency produce gaps and overlaps in research efforts and the results are often without industrial applicability.
Become competitive: A coordinated group of stakeholders can overcome this fragmentation and achieve synergies in their particular area of interest. By working together, they gain a competitive advantage as resources are spent on specialisation instead of on duplication. Previous European research collaborations: The Internet and the GSM standard are two examples of technologies you probably did not know have roots in European public-private research partnerships. What will come next? Perhaps we will be able to replace CO2-emitting concrete with green nano-cellulosic composites in construction. The opportunities presented are mind-boggling! |
